Tattoo Lightening in Raleigh, NC

Tattoo Lightening aka Tattoo Fading is a specialized treatment designed for those looking to fade their existing tattoos. Whether the goal is to correct a tattoo that didn’t meet expectations or to make room for a new design, lightening offers a solution. Instead of completing full removal, the process involves doing just a few sessions to lighten your old tattoo enough for a tattoo artist to re-work into something fresh. This is a much better option for most than a coverup because it gives the tattoo artist more creative freedom to do a beautiful piece for you. Many artists will now recommend that you do a few laser tattoo removal sessions to lighten/fade the old ink significantly to allow for a much better re-work of the design. This allows the artist to ensure they can provide you with a great piece that they will be proud of and you will truly love!

Using advanced laser technology, such as the PicoSure laser, the tattoo ink particles can be targeted and broken down without harming the surrounding skin. This treatment is suitable for all skin types, ink colors, tattoo sizes and locations on the body. Typically, results become noticeable after the first couple of treatments, with the timeline varying based on the tattoo’s size, color, and ink saturation. We recommend starting with two or three treatments and then checking in with your tattoo artist to see if it’s ready for the new piece. You’ll just need to wait eight weeks post your last laser session before getting the new work done!
